Today I had probably the first of many people saying 'But there's nothing wrong with your teeth'! I was talking to my friend about my upcoming braces, and her friend said 'Have you got braces?' and I said 'No but I'll be getting them soon' and she was like 'Why? You're teeth are perfectly straight!' I guess I'm going to get this a lot seeing as my teeth are actually straight...they just have a massive overbite too! I don't really know this girl so I just said 'Yeah but I still have an overbite so I'm getting that sorted out' and that was all I needed to say! So I think that will just be my response to anybody who asks once I've got the braces on...no need to go into all this surgery malarkey if I don't need to!

  1. My upper teeth were pretty straight as well, it was just the lower that were crooked, and no one could really see them anyway, so I got the same reaction. I think people who aren't constantly worrying about teeth/jaw issues (like us!) don't pay as much attention to people's teeth and probably never noticed any issues with yours, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. All that matters is that you understand why you are doing this!

  2. Yeah exactly, I've had a couple of other people saying before how straight my teeth are, and I'm like 'Hello? Massive overbite?' But yeah I realise that nobody else even notices my overbite, but I'm hoping people will notice the improvement after the surgery...I always think that if people do see the negative effect of my overite on the shape of my face, they would never be able to pinpoint that it was a problem with my jaw that creates that effect! So all other people see is that my teeth are fine because they're straight! You're right, even if other people don't notice or care, I know that this will make a massive difference to me so it will all be worth it...hopefully!

  3. I relate to this so much.
It will definitely be worth it. The harmony and balance it will give to your face will make such a difference. I've never seen a result that wasn't amazing and I've been obsessed with everything concerning this surgery for almost 2 years!

  4. I'm glad you understand what I mean Catherine! Haha you've got a year on me, I only started seriously looking into this about a year ago...I didn't even consider that I might still be able to have it done on the NHS until I met someone a year ago who'd had it done. I think it's fate that I met that person otherwise I probably wouldn't be in this position now!
